Joe Espin is a veteran outdoors writer with credits in state and national magazines, as well as weekly and daily publications. He has over 40 years of experience in all aspects of Florida and Caribbean fishing. He has traveled extensively in pursuit of both offshore and inshore saltwater species. His fishing travels have also included several forays to the Pacific Ocean.

In Florida's freshwaters, he has successfully pursued everything from bream and other pan fish to largemouth bass and speckled perch. Over the years Joe has become proficient in a wide variety of fresh water fishing methods ranging from "cricket flicking" to fly fishing and top-water plug use, as well as the proper use of most natural baits.

In Florida and Caribbean salt waters he has fought and landed a wide variety of pelagic species ranging from blue marlin to yellow fin tuna while using both natural and artificial baits. He has landed reef species of all descriptions from grouper to snappers and just about everything in between. Inshore, Joe has a particular fondness for light and ultra light spinning tackle and is proficient with innumerable artificials as well as live baits for taking such species as snook, redfish and spotted seatrout as well as many others.
